This issue sets the tone for all of 2009. We are planning more articles and price updates on the most collectible action figure lines of the past 35 years, the most up to date announcements in an archival format, plus Tomart’s new Speed Shop with the fastest, most detailed news on the Hot Wheels collecting scene.

This month Tonner Character Figures unveiled its Twilight figures and is taking orders on its TonnerDirect.com website. AFD has obtained the Iron Man chase figures and the releases from Hasbro’s Marvel line. Gentle Giant Indiana Jones and Star Wars statues and busts arrived just in time for Christmas. Some Transformer exclusives also arrived for the last minute rush along with a pre-release of many 2009 items. G.I. Joe also released some Target exclusives early and Toys ‘R’ Us had a Crimson Guard exclusive set. DC Direct announced four new Justice League International figures and new product from other lines.

Sideshow Collectibles delivered its great Indiana Jones 12" figure in pleanty of time for holidays sales along with Lara Croft. New announcements shown include the 12" Ewan McGregor Obi-Wan Kenobi, Cobra Trooper, Edward Scissorhands (Hot Toys), and 16" Gort action figure (Amok Time). Mattel has new DC Universe figures and McFarlane Toys has released painted photography on its Halo Wars sets along with new hockey figures. This issue wraps up with a Star Wars Update of on-shelf items and new announcements.
