The 2009 Toy Industry Association show is history. The Transformer – Revenge of the Fallen and G.I. Joe – The Rise of Cobra movie figures have been unveiled. Both films rely on many popular characters from the past plus some new villains. High tech outfits and gear has been designed for G.I. Joe characters while Transformers have been given more detail and additional weaponry for the highly anticipated second modern day film. Star Wars was reported to still be the top licensed product category and promises a steady flow of figure assortments throughout 2009. The Turbo Tank from The Clone Wars feature was shown along with new packaging for the year.

Color models of the internet only Ghostbusters line was shown by Mattel along with the Batman – Brave and the Bold line.

LEGO has extended its Indiana Jones line, and NECA has added more Twilight figures, Arnold figures from Terminator 2, and Gears of War 2. Sideshow has a great new lineup paced by 12" Lando Calrissian and Storm Shadow figures.
